In collaboration with the BIM Forum, this session will provide an update on the current state of BIM standards while addressing the owner's role in the development of these standards to align the entire team, to ensure that a verifiable and reliable model can be developed for construction and turnover of project information at the conclusion of the construction process. We will also identify some of the challenges in the standards development process, including an understanding of LOD, contract types, legal hurdles and how different collaborative project delivery models can bring value or hinder a team's larger virtual design and construction goals.

Speakers: Brian Skripac, Assoc. DBIA, CM-BIM, Assoc. AIA, LEED AP BD+C; Geoffrey W. Neumayr, SE, PE
