Estimating a Performance-Based Contract

Well-developed performance requirements are the key to successful design-build project delivery.  But estimating a performance-based contract is very different than for a prescriptive specification based contract.  This session will explain the benefits of performance-based requirements; describe the role of performance-based requirements in the design-build model; assess the advisability of prescriptive design requirements; how a price can be developed when there are minimal design details; the enhanced role of the estimator in design-build delivery; and how price is used to guide the design.
