Join us for “Progressive Design-Build in Practice: An Owner’s Perspective,” an insightful presentation and panel featuring design-build professionals and industry experts. Hear perspectives on the design-build delivery method from an experienced Owner, Owner’s representative, designer, and contractor. The panel will share lessons learned from a project delivered on time and on budget, including how early collaboration, transparent decision-making, and alignment among project partners helped drive successful results. Led a globally dispersed team executing $6.6 billion capital investment program and supporting $1.8 billion initial outfitting and transition requirements. Develops effective teams comprised of internal and external stakeholders.

Damon Gardella is a Partner at Klosh Group, an owner's representative firm, with 30 years of experience in the construction industry. He completed his first design-build project in 2003 and has spent his career delivering design-build work across federal contracts, public works, and private ownership. Damon holds DBIA and PMP certifications and served five years on the Board of Directors for the DBIA Inland Northwest Chapter. His background spans both the contractor and owner's representative sides of design-build, giving him a well-rounded, practical perspective on what it takes to deliver these projects successfully.
Dr. Kory Kalahar, Ed. D

Dr. Kory Kalahar has championed the students, families, and staff in the Wenatchee School District for 28 years. As an English and Social Studies teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, Assistant Executive Director of Learning and Teacher, and now in his fourth year as Superintendent, Kalahar is committed to creating a world-class school district that is the pride of the Wenatchee Valley. His background in leading the district through facilities work includes a 2023 Study and Survey, investment-grade audits for four schools, leading a long-range facilities committee, leading the district through the construction of a new softball complex, and partnering with Klosh Group on a $14.5 million progressive design-build modernization. After a four-month community engagement process, Kalahar will launch a campaign for a $275 million bond measure slated for November 3, 2026.

Rob Decker is Vice President of Commercial Construction at Garco Construction, where he leads the company’s commercial operations. Prior to joining Garco’s management team in 2008, Rob served as an Airborne Ranger-qualified Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army, including a deployment to Iraq as a reconnaissance platoon leader during Operation Iraqi Freedom. With more than 20 years in the A/E/C industry, he has led numerous complex projects utilizing design-build, CMAR, and other alternative delivery methods. Rob and his wife of 23 years have two children attending Carroll College in Helena, Montana.
Todd Coleman, PE

Todd Coleman, PE is a civil engineering and construction professional with a unique Design-Build perspective gained from both sides of the project. As the owner of the Amazon Air facility in Spokane, Washington, Todd experienced firsthand the challenges and opportunities of delivering a complex, high-profile project. As a civil contractor, he has successfully completed Design-Build projects including the Spokane Valley Fire Training Center, Aero-Flite Hangar, Craig Road Elementary School, and Riverview Independent Living. This combination of owner and contractor experience gives Todd practical insight into collaboration, risk allocation, constructability, and project delivery—helping owners, designers, and contractors achieve better Design-Build outcomes.
