INTRODUCTION TO P3s FOR THE DESIGN-BUILDER
This course is focused on Public-Private Partnerships (P3) for the Design-Builder. It is designed for both public and private sector Design-Build knowledgeable professionals with a slant toward private sector Design-Build Practitioners. Included within the course design are modules that highlight the key differences between P3 and more traditional Design-Build procurement, project execution and risk considerations, and how the private sector financing and long-term operations and maintenance obligations change the technical considerations of a project. This course will help participants:
- Gain an understanding of how Public-Private Partnerships are typically executed in the U.S.
- Understand the differences between a P3 and Design-Build project delivery, including procurement and project execution
- Gain insight into the legal and risk considerations specific to a P3
- Understand how the private sector financing and long-term operations and maintenance obligations change the technical considerations of a P3
