This webinar provides an introduction to Public Private Partnerships (P3s), it's similarities and differences from Desig- Build projects and helps Design-Build professionals succeed in this contract form.
This course is focused on Public-Private Partnerships (P3) for the Design-Builder. It is designed for both public and private sector Design-Build knowledgeable professionals with a slant toward private sector Design-Build Practitioners. Included within the course design are modules that highlight the key differences between P3 and more traditional Design-Build procurement, project execution and risk considerations, and how the private sector financing and long-term operations and maintenance obligations change the technical considerations of a project.
Learning Objectives:
- Create understanding of what a Public Private Partnership (P3) is (and is not).
- Understand the two main P3 models used in North American construction projects
- Discuss key similarities and differences between P3s and Design-Build projects
- What roles do local and small contractors and consultants play in a P3 project?
- Introduction of P3s in preparation of the full day P3 for Design-Builders class that DBIA organizes on November 4th, as part of the Annual Conference
