Our presentation will highlight three different case studies, where the delivery method was design/build, and the use of lean principles provided significant value to the project, owner, and trade partners involved. The first case study will highlight the Target Value Delivery approach to develop an overall design for a Smart Technology office tower in Austin, TX. The second case study will highlight the architecturally led use of lean principles and lean tools through the documentation and construction phase of a hotel in west Austin. The final case study will discuss the relationship between the architects and fabricators and how both parties came together to develop beautiful architectural wood features that aligned with the budget and exceeded the design intent.
