This discussion will delve into digital delivery's transformative potential in transportation projects, drawing lessons from PennDOT, TxDOT, and Ferrovial. Participants will understand the advantages and hurdles of digital delivery, the role of technology in improving project outcomes, and the critical importance of stakeholder collaboration. PennDOT will share insights on its Digital Delivery Program, emphasizing the challenges of agency-level implementation, change management, and developing new digital workflows and contract deliverables. TxDOT will provide a brief update on their Digital Delivery Program, technology initiatives, and how some of these tools were utilized on the I-35 NEX Central project in San Antonio, Texas, to enhance project delivery and outcomes. Ferrovial, as the design-build contractor for the I-35 NEX Central project, will discuss the application of advanced digital technologies like 3D modeling and virtual collaboration tools to effectively deliver the Project and improve safety and mobility.

Marco is the San Antonio District Alternative Project Delivery Supervisor for the Texas Department of Transportation and oversees the I-35 NEX Design-Build Program. He joined TxDOT in 2008 and has served as Assistant Engineer at TxDOT’s Bexar Metro Area Office where he managed a budget of over $700 million dollars of construction/maintenance projects. He is involved with piloting various aspects of TxDOT’s 3D design implementation, schematic development, and design and construction management of various projects.
