With design-build increasingly becoming a project delivery method of choice, and with variations such as Progressive Design-Build and Two-Phase Best Value requiring unique knowledge and skills, Owners are relying more heavily on qualified Owner Advisors for guidance in Design-Build Done Right® Best Practices. Whether an Owner new to design-build or an experienced Owner, increased project complexities make engaging the right Owner Advisor paramount to success. This session will provide guidance to Owners considering the engagement of an Owner Advisor, helping Owners align their needs and interests with the selection and scope of the Owner Advisor.

Her DBIA National service includes Chair of the Owner Advisor committee, member of the Progressive Design-Build Resources committee, and a DBIA education instructor. Her upcoming book, Build Beautifully, examines the nexus of sustainable design and project delivery method

John Bale, PE, MBA, FDBIA

Over his career, John Bale has been involved with more than 50 design-build projects, served on DBIA’s Transportation Markets Committee and the National Board of Directors and has been a certified instructor for DBIA for many years. While working with the American Council of Engineering Companies, John helps improve the design-build program in Utah and has led two industry outreach programs in Minnesota and Michigan to improve their Department of Transportation’s design-build process.
