CONTENT EXPIRES: December 31, 2022 Design-Build delivery has been evolving. Many owners have moved from design-bid-build to design-build Best Value Selection (BVS) and are now moving to progressive design-build (PDB). Through this evolution, there can be knowledge gaps between the design-build BVS and PDB processes with a variety of successes, failures, and a significant learning curve. This session gives unique insight from two highly distinguished public sector owners who candidly share their stories. At UCSD, the PDB process was initiated about three years ago. While at SFO, the PDB practice has been implemented for over ten years with many successful outcomes.

CONTENT EXPIRES: December 31, 2022 Picking up on the very popular 2019 session “Delivering Red-Hot Design-Build in a White Hot Market” this session explores what makes an Owner of choice, how practitioners make the decision to pursue a project, how they identify the “Owner of Choice” with which to work. Further, the session will explore how, in a less than optimal project, risk is addressed and how it can it drive up costs. This will be a much more interactive session, with minimal formal presentation.

Design-Build for Procurement Professionals – Part 5 It’s vital to understand the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and what it allows and/or precludes, to deliver a successful design-build project in the federal sector. Most agencies further supplement the FAR with agency-specific policies and procedures tailored to their specific mission. Many State and Local public owners have procurement policies that are similar to the federal regulations or must follow federal guidelines related to use of federal funds for projects. This webinar will review and discuss how the Federal Sector guide helps teams navigate federal project delivery and define the commonalities between the Design-Build Done Right® best practices and techniques, and the FAR.
